eMOP Featured in Library Journal

Matt Enis, Associate Editor of Technology for the Library Journal, asks "OCR [optical character recognition] works great for paperbacks—but what about 15th Century texts set by hand?"

He explores the answers provided by eMOP in his recent article, "Next Gen OCR Project Reaches Back into Early English History (and Databases)." The article features comments from Laura Mandell (eMOP's principle investigator and director of Texas A&M's IDHMC), Mary Sauer-Games (Proquest's vice-president of scientific, technical, medical and humanities publishing), and Todd Samuelson (curator of rare books and manuscripts for Texas A&M's Cushing Library.)
